PROCLAMATION 

NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH 

SEPTEMBER 15 - OCTOBER 15, 2026 

WHEREAS, National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 through October 15 to recognize the histories, cultures, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans; and 

WHEREAS, Hispanic and Latino Americans have enriched our nation and communities through their contributions to education, agriculture, business, the arts, public service, and many other fields; and 

WHEREAS, the Toppenish School District is proud to recognize the rich heritage, traditions, languages, and cultures of our Hispanic and Latino students, families, staff, and community members, whose contributions are an important part of the history, identity, and strength of the Toppenish community; and 

WHEREAS, celebrating the diverse cultures and experiences represented throughout our schools helps foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment and provides opportunities for students, staff, families, and community members to learn about and celebrate the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans; 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Toppenish School District Board of Directors hereby recognizes September 15 through October 15, 2026, as National Hispanic Heritage Month and encourages our students, staff, families, and community to join in celebrating the heritage, culture, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
