Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope this letter finds you in great spirits as we anticipate an amazing school year.  As the new Superintendent of Toppenish School District 202, I am humbled, excited, and overfilled with joy to serve our awesome school community. It is my honor to extend a warm welcome to all of you!!

As I start my tenure, I want to first acknowledge and express my sincere appreciation to our wonderful and supportive teachers and paraprofessionals. I also want to acknowledge our phenomenal facilities and custodial teams. The teachers and curriculum team have been diligently working throughout the summer to create engaging student-centered lessons that will promote engagement and unlock the hidden potential of each student. Their work is truly amazing because it will ignite the passion for learning within each student that will promote lifelong learning. I also want to extend my gratitude to the facilities and custodial team for their work in our buildings to create a clear and inviting environment for our students. We are so appreciative of the hard work and dedication of both teams. Their work is paramount to the educational journey and wellbeing of our students.

To our phenomenal students, you are the most important entity of our district!  Yes, all of you are the future of our school community!! Each one of you has a hidden potential that can allow you to become whatever your mind can imagine. Our district is continually working to provide a diverse variety of programs, initiatives, extracurricular activities, and events that will promote curiosity, exploration, while inspiring each of you to celebrate your individual and unique talent during learning experiences every day.

To the parents and guardians, thank you for allowing us to educate your child(ren). We thank you for your continued trust and partnership. As we collaborate, your belief in our service and the partnership we forge with our families and community is an invaluable bond necessary to ensure students’ success.

We are looking forward to a fantastic new school year that will focus on academic excellence, social emotional learning, and safety. Our mindset is to nurture the whole child, so that everyone can thrive at their maximum potential.  Our schools are not just committed to your students’ academic achievement, but we encourage long lasting friendships, cultivation of everyone’s unique abilities, and a place where students are lifelong learners. School and home will work together to help students build and pursue futures beyond what they can imagine.

In closing, I am positive that with our collective efforts we will make certain that our students, teachers, and staff have a positive year full of extraordinary and engaging learning. I am looking forward to a successful academic year where I will lead with kindness and integrity.

I am honored and thrilled to embark on this journey as your superintendent! My goal is that we will work together to make our mark as a district and prioritize the needs of our students by holding ourselves accountable for our actions. My core belief is that “We Are Greater Together”!! Thank you again for allowing us to educate your child(ren)!!
